  • Class Year: 2018

I grew up in Whitefish, Montana before leaving to attend high school in New England at Phillips Exeter Academy. After years of winter, I decided it was time for a change and made my way out to California for college. At Claremont McKenna College, I'm a senior majoring in Science Management with a concentration in Biotechnology. Besides working on thesis and being President Pro-Tempore, I'm an active member of the outdoors community at the 5C's, specifically the backpacking and climbing groups. In addition, I do the occasional triathlon and marathon. I'm also privileged to be a Senior Interviewer this year and also a First Year Guide to the incredible first years of Leo Carrillo 1!

The President Pro Tempore ensures that the Constitution and various operating procedures are adhered to and followed. Additionally, they serve as the Chief Ethical Officer, so it is their prerogative to monitor the operations of ASCMC and its officers and guarantee that the Constitution, and the law, are respected. The President Pro Tempore also chairs the Elections Committee, and is a regular member of the Budget Committee. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee Senate and Executive Board

  • Acting Executive Vice President and Chair of the Student Senate

  • Chair of Elections Committee

  • Serve on the Budget Committee

  • Chief Ethical Officer of ASCMC

  • Ensure compliance with Constitution, Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and
    Operating Procedures

  • Write Constitutional amendments or be consulted when others are writing them

My goals this year are to continue to refine the ASCMC Constitution as much as it reflects the objectives and correct operational procedures that lead to ASCMC being the most efficient and ethical corporation possible. In addition, I aim to run elections in a fair and ethical manner and make sure that the corporation as a whole is run in a way that we are proud of and adheres to California nonprofit law.
