Biography:

Grace Wang is a sophomore dual majoring in International Relations and Media Studies. She is originally from Beijing, China, but she has moved around a lot. An interesting fact about Grace is that she went to high school in Claremont, so she knows the village super well, and is working her way to trying all the restaurants in the village (ask her for recommendations!).

Responsibilities: 

The Vice President of Student Activities is responsible for overseeing social life on campus which does not relate exclusively to dorms or clubs. More concretely, this usually means overseeing and working with the Event Commissioners to plan weekly TNCs, Saturday night parties, and other wet and dry events as appropriate. Several of the responsibilies inculde, but are not limited to:

  • Hosts events in combination with event commissioners

  • Meet with DOS

  • Meet with other 5C events hosts to set master calender

  • Serve on budget and elections commitee

  • Budget the student activites budget

  • Hand over revenue to Controller from sales

  • Inventory student activites equipment

Projects/Initiatives: 

As VPSA this year, Grace aims to accomplish her campaign slogan, "make thursdays lit again", and to plan events that truly caters to the wants of CMCers. If you would like to throw a thurday party or have ideas for a party, reach out to Grace!
