Sophomore Class President
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Class Year: 2021
Favorite spot on campus: Sitting by the Cube at night
Hi! My name is Johnson and this is my second term as the Class of 2021 President. Last year, I implemented several projects and changes to help improve campus life at CMC. Among these include affordable student-designed gear, diverse event programming, expanded funding for first year parties, birthday card deliveries, representation through the class cabinet, and much more! I'm always open to other perspectives and ideas and invite anyone to contact me or stop by my office hours at the hub :)
The Sophomore Class President has significant influence over Sophomore Class activities. It is common for a Class President to appoint a cabinet made up of fellow students from his/her class. The Sophomore Class President holds autonomy over many class events, and works to make events inclusive, fun, and memorable for the class.
Responsibilities include :
Managing class communications
Assisting students with room draw
Planning and coordinating class events
Serving as the liaison between the administration and the freshman class
Serving on the Executive Board
This year, I'm working on producing a new line of gear, compiling photos and videos for our virtual class scrapbook (this is a four-year long project), continuing the birthday delivery system, and creating meaningful events for my class! I also hope to advocate more for minority groups on campus as well as my fellow students who are on financial aid.
