Claremont McKenna Mock Trial

Claremont McKenna Mock Trial has a unique identity. While many programs sharply divide training for witness and lawyer roles, CMCMT strives to give students a holistic view of the mock trial process, focusing on skills beneficial to both roles. Competing in Mock Trial emphasizes a wide variety of skills ranging from public speaking to acting to problem solving and analytical thinking. Our program focuses on five central components: effective presentation, form of a trial, facts of the case, common patterns, and the rules of evidence.

Requirements for Membership

Members are selected through an application and audition process. Students must present either an argument or a monologue before the CMCMT Board to be chosen for membership.

Students must be willing to devote 3+ hours per week and 2-3 weekends per semester for mock trial activities.
